Investment Analyst - Latest Release and Version History
You have probably seen the ad showing a person leaving a computer store with a brand-new computer, only to see a billboard being redone as he is taking his latest and greatest machine home. The two billboard workers are covering the ad for his new machine with an ad for a new, new machine that is twice as powerful. It is the nature of the
computer business – and the software business. Hardware changes rapidly
and the best software companies are continually modifying software – sometimes
to take advantage of the improvements in technology, and sometimes to make
sure that the current software continues to run.
Since 1987, when Caprate Calculator was introduced on MS-Dos operating
systems, our software has evolved and improved each year. More speed; better
printing options; document conversion to MS Word, Excel and Adobe PDF;
the ability to perform both simple and complex calculations easily. We
could go on and on because 20 years of improvements is a lot of improvements.
Over the last 20 years, one thing has remained constant. The calculations. From Caprate Calculator to Investment Analyst, the same entries produce the same answer. The value calculations have been proven time and time again, thousands of times, to be accurate. Reliability and Investment Analyst are synonymous.
The current version of Investment Analyst was released in October of 2007.
Building upon our 20 year tradition of improving Analyst to meet the needs
of our clients, the new version of Analyst contains many improvements and
enhancements. Among the new Analyst features is a redesigned Worksheet.
A Summary Tab that displays Key Numbers and a Review Tab have been added
to give you a better picture of your analysis, all on one screen. Changes
to the Print Control Panel, Income Screen, and Expense Screen have also
been made. Some report formats have been modified to permit better alignment
on the page. More than 50 new fields have been added to the Commercial
Complete option, making it the most comprehensive real estate database
tool available. We have also enhanced the Help system. Finally, "behind
the scenes" improvements have been made to allow Analyst to run even
more smoothly.
This follows upon improvements made in 2005 that incorporated the latest
software design tools, insuring that the software will operate on Microsoft’s
latest operating systems. And when their operating systems change,
as they surely will, Analyst is positioned to run on those platforms too.
In 2005, Analyst was made faster, made to utilize memory better, screen
improvements were made, and the option to save reports in PDF format was
added.
A new optional feature that was added in 2004 was the Commercial Complete
option. Commercial Complete now offers a complete database solution for
storing and retrieving comparable data. Analyst can now perform a Comparable
Analysis and it prints Property Datasheets, Building Datasheets with cost
calculations, various Comparison Grids, and more.
